Your Fans Are Out There

Your fans are out there.

Hiding in plain sight.

You just have to reach them where they are.  The internet is too damn noisy for them to find you.

Did you know that you can target specific groups of people with Facebook?  The power of this technology is absolutely mind-blowing.  (Think of anytime you were on a company’s website and then the next day you saw an ad for them.  Same principle.)

Most bands don’t really know about this, or they think the technology is not accessible to them.  It’s possible.  But it does take time and patience (and investment, but not even that much!).

Imagine this:  you post your video (can be as fancy as a music video, or as casual as a selfie video of whatever your audience will like).  You target a few different groups of people (I’ll spare you the technical details).  You get data back on who watched how much of said video.

You can then target those EXACT SAME PEOPLE WHO LIKED YOUR SHIT with the next video you release!  You gather more data.  You re-target with a third release.  The more honed in your targeting gets, the cheaper it is to reach these people.

And here is the kicker….. Once you get enough data, FACEBOOK WILL GO AND FIND OTHER PEOPLE JUST LIKE THOSE WHO LIKE YOUR MUSIC.  THEY LITERALLY WILL MULTIPLY YOUR FANBASE.

This also gives you a terrific chance to engage with them during all of this.  Some will check out your music.  Some won’t.  And that’s okay.  (Imagine the reactions you’d get if you tried showing your music to rando’s on the street!). You can find out what people like and don’t like about you and your music and your brand.

This is the most scaleable method I know of to reach new people (who are actually into what you do!).

Hit me up if you want to talk more about this!

Mediocrity As a Crown

Making comments (even jokingly) about how bad you are is a coward’s way of life. It’s kind of like saying “well, I’m not really trying.” …which takes no courage.  No balls. “Hey everyone!  Look at me
